Just finished listening to you guys on my lunch ruck.
Great conversation about philosophy, resilience, and purpose.
I’ve read Sam’s phenomenal work but haven’t seen him in the flesh - it was great hearing about his upbringing and how he got into philosophy - especially how the military experiences formed his outlook on life and what truly matters.
Also - need to order a waterproof notebook for my steam room, great pointer there.
Thank you, Wendy. I think your post last weekend resonated with me given the relationship I have with my own mom. There is no stronger bond in existence.
Great to hear two of my favorite writers here go at it! My main interests are how people make big life and career decisions while dealing with all the hardships of living. Relates to Kipling's "If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs". Thanks to Sam for showing how he did/does all this (love your tribute to your mother as strong mentor), and again to Kyle for being the master facilitator of free-flowing conversation!
Thank you Baird. One of my favorite parts of the convo was learning about Sam’s roots and how this savage of a man and writer’s resilience was originally derived from the strong women around him. Really happy to hear you enjoyed it
Saw your nice thought about interviewing me, Kyle. Tried to reply and got a "You cannot comment on this" message. Here's what I wrote:
Thanks Kyle. If I could get past my public speaking anxiety, I’d jump at the chance to dance. We'd have fun. But that’s not likely to happen at my late(r)) stage’o’life. So I’ll just continue as a loyal spectator. Onward! ✌️
All good brother! Maybe on the side at some point then without recording. I’d love to pick your brain on working with clients in your past, strategies for connection and helping them work through issues, and now as a leader and writer. I’ll be continuing on as a big fan of yours regardless 👊🏻
Appreciate it Dee. Like you, I thoroughly enjoyed hearing Sam riff on some empowering topics and learning more about how he came to the ideas he writes about. Glad you enjoyed it 👊🏻
Such a great conversation!
We had great practice by going on this badass chick’s podcast a while back.
😂😂😂
Thank you, Gina.

Nice work fellas!
Thanks Mac. The waterproof notebook is a game changer.

Excellent podcast with two very interesting, intelligent, strong and passionate writers.

I am glad the post resonated with you. I agree there is no stronger bond❤️
Thanks mom. Was fun to hear Sam reflect on his mom early in the convo and then later say how much he enjoyed your recent post. Love you
Love you too❤️

Kyle has a gift for conversation. It felt like it could have gone for hours. I appreciate it, Baird.
