Insanity makes a person do crazy things. Even burpies.

Just wonderfully diabolical, Kyle. Your ability to voluntarily suffer is something I have only the deepest respect for.

Haha thank you brother. As you know, that intentional suffering may very well be a modern key into the void our technological progress has created so we can maintain our edge. Still plenty of resistance to the concept but I know a really good writer who explores the topic as well as anyone I’ve ever read…

So, 71 is the number to beat.

Seriously, this is impressive. I do 4 sets of 25 pushups (4 days per week) as part of my warmup. Been thinking of how to increase this, perhaps changing a set to burpees is the way to go.

Haha I think 81 is the new number to beat.

Progressive overload is the way to go! 4 sets of 25 pushups is fantastic. Once you get comfortable doing it, find a way to make it a little more challenging. Switching a set to burpees is an excellent way to do that

Kyle, this is an amazing story, and an amazing accomplishment!

I also increased the number of burpees reps I can do at a time using EMOM. My maximum for time and reps is 100 in ten minutes, so I know firsthand how incredible a feat it is that you did 71 in three minutes!

Thank you brother.

One of my favorite quick workouts is a 10 min EMOM with a given exercise. For burpees, obviously doing 10 per min will get you to 100. Once you can do that, increase the rep/min!
