“It’s not how you start, but how you finish that counts.”

-John Wooden

How many workouts or even life circumstances do we just grind through?

Perseverance is an admirable trait, but it’s also easier to persist when you know your effort is temporary.

The ability to endure is more likely when you have a destination. Expectations regarding time and energy expenditure needed to overcome a challenge provide a realistic mindset.

What if there was no end in sight?

What if stopping wasn’t an option and you had to continue for hours or even days?

Could you keep going and maintain output?

No one can go 90-100% for very long.

Command over your mind and body is critical for physical, mental, and spiritual resilience.

Conscious considerations of your output can provide the ability to sustain performance in any condition.

This skill is trainable.

Fitness is a vehicle for resilience training.

Many of my workouts progressively test one’s spirit from start to finish. Maintaining output typically becomes harder as time passes. Today, the goal is to utilize an innate ability that governs our functioning. When done correctly, this workout will become easier over time.

Sensory inputs, urges, and all forms of stress can compromise performance.

How do you respond to stress?

Master the skill and mindset in this challenge and enduring any form of life adversity becomes easier.

Govern yourself to optimize functioning in all conditions.
