Maybe a good topic of conversation in the future between someone who beautifully writes on unpopular parenting considerations to raise resilient children and someone who less than beautifully writes on resilience concepts across domains…
I love doing hard things. It's become a personal mantra of sorts, one adopted from my first days at the Naval Academy. I think you're spot on about embracing uncertainty and building in recovery time. There's nothing that feels better than resting after a training regimen topped off by PR lift or a great roll on the mats. That feeling is pure ecastcy.
The idea of embracing hard things is one I spend a lot of time trying to teach my children. It's one of the biggest benefits of the airplane we're building together. It's fun because it's hard, and because we get to fly when it's done.
